In case you missed it: IPSE’s IR35 webinar is available now
By now you’ll be aware of the Government’s ill-considered and fundamentally flawed proposals to reform taxation for public sector contractors. Known as IR35, the legislation could force many contractors out of the public sector.
The problem is that the legislation is almost incomprehensively complex. If you’re an independent professional working for a public sector organisation, do you know for sure whether the changes will affect you? If they do affect you, should you switch to the private sector?
IPSE, along with the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) sought to answer these questions, among others, in an interactive IR35 webinar on Tuesday 1 November. We’re working closely with the REC in fighting the IR35 proposals and our positions are closely aligned.
The webinar covered three broad strands:
- What are the IR35 Proposals and why did they come about?
- Why does IPSE and the REC oppose the proposals?
- How will you, the UK’s contractors, respond if the proposal is implemented
