Gary has been in IT for nearly 30 years, and has been self employed throughout. He became a contractor in 1995 as a technical specialist and has since moved on to manage projects, mainly in the financial sector for many of the top names in financial services.
He has some good contacts in the political arena, and an understanding of how things work in Scotland, which can be surprisingly different from the rest of the UK. He has the ability to look at an argument logically and make a rational decision, but also the enthusiasm for stirring things up that an organisation such as IPSE needs.
Gary is back on the Board for a sixth year, after a year away to help get a tech start-up company off the ground.
He is based near Glasgow, is married to Elaine and has one son, Cameron, aged 14.
